[...] If I do the mirror affirmations and walk out the door telling myself ‘Ok, I’m going to have a great day today, I’m walking tall, feeling good, grounded and mindful’ etc that might help me start to take actions in that direction, but I think for most people who practice affirmations they quickly find that its not just as easy as telling yourself the magic words and heading out there. You have to DO something about it. [...]

What a great post, I too am into all manner of self help 'tech' and reading, studying, and researching is a lot easier than just 'doing it' for sure. Thanks for the inspiration. I've added this to my spiritual digg style site spiri2al. Stop by and vote for it if you get the chance!

Totally agree with your message here. As a personal trainer I refuse to hear words like "I just can't do it" or "I can't stop eating" --we can do any we really want to do. Whatever that may be, once we resolve to doing something (education, skydiving, deep sea diving, weight loss, etc) we can do it and will power, as you mentioned is simple, but very true.

Thanks for the message!

Thanks for this great post.

This speaks to much of where I find myself right now in my life. For so long I've been trying to be my own master. Master of my mind, body and emotions. That is, of course, the best way to go through life.

I believe there is a lot to be said about the just do it habit. Sometimes you just gotta forget about techniques. You need only look into your spirit and grab what's there. And there is so much there. And you can do it. Every time.
